Event Capacity
Our Thunderboxes provide two toilet cubicles back to back and are the ideal solution for a variety of events from weddings and conferences to other gatherings and festivals. Our double Thunderboxes can be hired for as little as £395, although locations of more than 30 miles will incur an extra delivery charge. Let us know your Thunderbox requirements.

Location Required
We have a strong environmental ethos and take ‘poo miles’ seriously as this affects our carbon footprint. We are happy to take our Thunderboxes to events within a 60 mile radius from our depot in mid Devon. Really sorry but we no longer supply larger events or sites outside this area.

How to book
Get in touch with the post code of your event location, your details for the invoice, the dates you require Thunderboxes and how many you need. We will then issue a pro forma invoice and once payment is received, you’re all set to have a Thunderbox at your event.
A Little Of Our Story
Servicing & Maintenance
We designed our Thunderboxes as a pleasant, environmentally friendly alternative to the ubiquitous blue plastic box. They can be installed virtually anywhere and come with everything needed to make using a Thunderbox a pleasant experience. For small events, no servicing is required and with a large capacity under the seat, there is no danger of the Thunderbox becoming full.

We have been on the cutting edge of compost toilet design and supply and are the first company in the UK to offer compost toilets on a hire basis - providing a quality experience for our users since 2003. Our lovely rustic looking sheds compliment any outdoor setting and have been designed so that maintenance is kept to a minimum. We have a strong environmental ethos and take our carbon footprint seriously. We are not a UK wide company and until we find like minded people in other parts of the country, we only travel a maximum of 60 miles from our depot in mid Devon - sorry!

Small is Beautiful
From weddings and parties to larger corporate events, we have a small hire fleet that can cater for events of up to 500 people. Most of all we love to work with companies that show their commitment to sustainability such as Lush, River Cottage, Yeo Valley, the Eden Project, the National Trust, and Devon wildlife Trust. We are also proud to be part of Shambala Festival since 2003, working with them to achieve the award for the Greenest festival in Europe in 2017.
Sustainable
We have a strong environmental ethos and view sustainability as a priority. Our timber is sourced from sustainably managed Devon woodlands and compost is collected in recycled food containers.
Environment Agency Approved
We take our responsibilities seriously and have worked with the Environment Agency to produce a code of conduct for our composting operations
No Water or Electric
Thunderbox compost toilets are entirely off-grid, requiring no water or electricity. All our Thunderboxes come with solar lighting, and we can provide hand sanitiser dispensers for waterless locations.
